History

"Metall-Chemie" was founded as a trading company in Hamburg in 1949 and was at first part of the Paris-based Lubovitch Group, which began trading in ores and metals in the 1930s and had more than twenty subsidiaries around the world.

Linking up with this tradition, Metall-Chemie traded exclusively in ores and semifinished metal products after its founding. The product range was successively expanded in the years following to include chemical raw materials and finished products.

This trading business was the root of today's Metall-Chemie Group, which has been independent since the mid-1990s. Today, production and trading companies in the fields of fine chemistry, surface finishing, transport technology and non-ferrous metals are all run under the umbrella of "Metall-Chemie Holding GmbH".

Metall-Chemie Holding GmbH is run by a manager outside the family. The two members of the professional supervisory board help advise the company's management.
